Top 10 Sources – with OPML.

Top 10 Sources: “Top 10 Sources is a directory of sites that bring you the freshest, most relevant content on the Web. We know it’s impossible for anyone to keep track of the 20 million online sources of information. So our editors search Web 2.0 — blogs, podcasts, wikis, news sites, and every kind of syndicated sources online — by hand. Our Top 10 lists are updated frequently as great new sources come online.”

What’s really interesting about this is that they publish the opml for every subject. So in a good aggregator, you should be able to just include that opml for a subject and let an expert manage that subsection of interest for you.

Almost like subscribing to the same blogs as your favorite blogger, but better – additions and deletions are automatic.

BookBorough updated – Get Cheap or Free Books in NYC

I’ve updated my remix of the great Book Burro GreaseMonkey script.
GreaseMonkey is this amazing plugin for firefox that lets you re-write webpages so that they work the way you want. If you aren’t so good with the javascript, you can browse UserScripts.org, a great website that helps you find userscripts that have been written.

BookBorough pops up if you are on most of the major bookselling websites. It has a tiny little bar – you click on the bar and it expands, grabbing prices from all of the other major booksellers and getting availability for that book in the new york libraries. If you are going to buy a book, you might as well get it for the lowest price. And if you’re willing to buy the book, maybe you should take a second to check it out from your local library instead!

If you are interested in writing your own scripts, check out Dive Into Greasemonkey, a totally free book about writing Greasemonkey scripts. amazon booksearch library

Collect Wendy’s cups, fly for free

Check out this amazing deal from airtran. The gist is this: You get 64 UPC’s from wendy’s 20 oz or greater cups. You mail them to AirTran. AirTran mails you a coupon good for a round trip ticket anywhere they fly.

I could just tell the hobos on my block that I am buying wendy’s 20oz cups for 25 Cents a cup. Voila – round trip ticket for $16 (plus tax and fees). Who wants to go to Colorado? Or, since airtran flys from madison to vegas, maybe Squiggles could use this to fly to vegas, then hop a cheap flight from there to reno?

BTW, squiggles – dude, why am I not on your links list? Maybe I should start hanging out with this guy, who’s page I found when looking for yours.

Back from Breck

Into the fun
Into the fun,
originally uploaded by snarkhunt.

I just got back from Breckenridge Colorado Monday morning. We flew out late on wednesday night and caught a redeye back to nyc and straight to work from there.

It was really great stuff. Every day was a powder day and we slept in the swankest condo ever. I managed to get a 180 off. It appears to be something I can do once a year.

LazyWeb Request: Best Early Snow in Colorado

Some work buddies and I have gotten a flight out to Denver for Dec 1-4. We haven’t booked a place to stay yet though. We’ve been looking at Copper Mountain or maybe Breckenridge.

I want to keep it as cheap as possible but also get the best snow we can get. Anyone know of good deals or a mountain that’s a great bet? Drop me a line at thisblogsnameprebloggerdotcom at gmail.com or let me know in the comments. Any ideas are appreciated!
